The following steps will ensure the Most Thorough Cleaning Possible for your air ducts and your Families Health.
There are many small steps involved in cleaning your ducts. 2 man crews are used for better efficiency and to minimize the time in your home.
The primary steps are as follows:
-
Lay down high quality drop cloths to minimize the possibility of tracking soil into your home while the technicians are working.
-
Remove, Clean, and when finished cleaning your system, Reinstall your registers.
-
Pre-vacuum the register openings to eliminate dust blowback while cleaning your system.
-
Prep area by cutting access holes in the main lines of the warm (supply) side and cold (return) sides of the system that are connected to your furnace. Access panels will be placed over the holes when finished.
-
A large vacuum is built into a trailer. The vacuum is connected to your system by running an 8-inch vacuum hose from the duct cleaning machine to your furnace.
-
With the vacuum running we bring in a high pressure air hose, which operates an air powered whip head. The whip head is made up of several small rubber hoses, which whip very quickly under air pressure. These whips are fed into the trunk lines through your register openings and slowly moved down your duct trunk lines. These whips kick up the dirt, dust, and all those allergens that have been lodged in your system and push them into the main lines. After the trunk lines are cleaned a larger whip head is used to clean the main line to push the dirt to the vacuum hose and out to the machine. This is a very clean procedure.
-
After the ducts are all cleaned a special fogging machine is used to fog an anti-microbial into your system to help kill mold and mildew spores.
-
After this is all done the registers are re-installed and clean up is done to leave your home clean after the work is completed.
Duct Cleaning Doesn't take very much time.
The average home takes 2 technician about ½ day to clean. A large home may take ¾ to a whole day to clean. Once started residential work will be completed the same day.
